Low and clear with winter still here.

Go to the West Michigan Fishing Report to see what’s happening on our other area streams… Ok weather and fishing, updated on February 23rd, 2010.

Water Conditions — Temps in the 30’s with low and clear conditions.
USGS Real-Time Data for the Pere Marquette River at Scottville, Michigan

I wouldn’t want to give the wrong impression, that fishing the PM would be Mission Impossible.  There are enough fish around, it is just that we have cold, low and clear conditions, combined with stale fish… steelhead that have been in the system for weeks or months and that have learned a thing or two.  I’ll stake a shinny new quarter that the first warm spell will produce some very good to great fishing.  I’m fishing a little and tying a lot, getting ready for a couple drippy warm days.
