Hot Pere Marquette River King Salmon Fishing
Pere Marquette guide report provided by the guides at Indigo Guide Service… west Michigan’s premier guide service.
Pere Marquette guide report for September 26th, 2009
Water Conditions — Temps in the 50’s & 60’s, Low and Clear!
Fishing Conditions — The fish numbers and fishing has turned from ok to good or great the last week. With a recent weather front that brought only light rain after twenty some days of sunny blue skies the salmon came rushing into the river. Fish numbers are good through out the watershed. I would predict good fishing for the rest of the season.
Tip for low and clear conditions: Fish extra stealthy with a quiet approach, fluorocarbon leaders and sinkers that don’t clink on rock and gravel. Fish early and late with an afternoon siesta.

Writer Brandon Butler of Driftwood Outdoors was up for some salmon fishing a few weeks ago with photographer Bill Konway. Wow, did we have a great time, catch some nice fish and Bill took some awesome photos. It was a real treat for me to have two top notch professionals out at the same time. Brandon posted a nice piece about Barothy Lodge and Indigo Guide Service on his Midwest Sporting Journal blog and Bill also posted some of his photos and a short note about his first Pere Marquette trip on his Bill Konway’s Photography Blog.
