Early Pere Marquette Salmon, Good Brown Trout and Grasshoppers
Pere Marquette Fishing report provided by Indigo Guide Service
PM Fishing report for August 13th, 2009
Water Conditions — Low 60’s - 50’s, Slightly high with color… perfect.
Fishing Conditions — The cool and wet weather seems to be doing good things for the Pere Marquette trout and salmon fishing. The trout fishing both during the day with streamers, dries and terrestrials and after dark with surface (mousing) and bulging (just under the surface) patterns are still producing. The salmon fishing is very good for this time of the year with more fishing entering the river each day. August is also a great time to be on Pere Marquette Lake and Ludington Piers, with a mixed bag of king salmon, northern pike, smallmouth bass and freshwater drum. kevin
- My favorite grasshopper patter because it is fast and easy! This pattern was shown to me years ago by Dorothy Schramm from Pentwater, Michigan. You can vary colors and size to match your hoppers but this is my standard.
