Solid Fishing, Mark Knee with Steelhead

March 3rd, 2009 by guide

Water Conditions — High with a slight stain, temps in the low 30’s

Launch Conditions— M-37, Greens Cottage, Gleason’s, Rainbow Rapids, Upper Branch and Custer landings are all open.

Fishing Conditions —The upper river has a slight stain and was on the rise.  The fishing has been solid the last few days with the warmer weather and with that there have been reports of spawning fish in the fly water.  Black stones and Clown eggs have been the flies of choice. Rainbow Rapids down to Upper Branch landing has been hit and miss, with fish moving through the river system on the warmer days and holding when the weather turns cold again.  The fishing in the lower river from Custer Bridge downstream has slowed a bit with indicator fishing and large egg patterns working the best.

    Please: catch and release
