Kevin Morlock’s Winter Steelhead on Raven Centerpin

February 27th, 2009 by guide

Water Conditions — High with slight stain, temps in the low 30’s

Launch Conditions— M-37, Greens Cottage, Gleason’s, Rainbow Rapids, Upper Branch and Custer Bridge landings are all plowed and open.

Fishing Conditions —The upper river was in good shape, with people hooking fish below M-37. Standard nuke eggs in #6-#8 and nymphs in size #10 have been working best.  Rainbow Rapids down to Upper Branch landing has been hit and miss, with fish moving through the river system on the warmer days and holding when the weather turns cold again. The fishing in the lower river from Custer Bridge downstream has been consistent, indicator fishing with nuke eggs has been the best.

Please: catch and release steve
