Flooded-Out
Pere Marquette Fishing Report for December 30th, 2008
Water Conditions — High and stained . Temps in mid 30’s
Launch conditions— M-37, Gleasons, Rainbow Rapids and Upper Branch landings are all plowed and open.
Fishing Conditions — Well you have to love winter in Michigan, Friday we had freezing temps and 3 feet of snow and on Saturday we were in the high 50’s with heavy rain! The river is out of her banks and stained, not ideal conditions but when the river comes back down expect some decent fishing. There were fair numbers of steelhead and a few cohos being caught in the lower stretch of the river before it froze up, with high water those fish should move up river.
Please: catch and release, pictures last a lifetime–steve
